Full Time, Year Round Supervisor position in the Surf industry.
Swell Tofino is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Surf, SUP, and Bike program Supervisor to join our team in continuing to deliver outstanding customer service while sharing our passion for the ocean through providing surf equipment rentals and surf instruction.

Job Duties:
Train and supervise and motivate surf and paddleboard instructors as well as our equipment rental team.
Oversee administration of Swell’s Surf, SUP, and Bike programs.
Provide expert advice on Swell’s surf, SUP and Bike programs.
Develop and update programs and policies for surfing, stand up paddleboarding (SUP), and biking.
Schedule activities with a good knowledge of swell and forecasts, maintaining records and preparing reports.
Instruct recreational surf and paddleboard lessons and enforce safety rules, providing assistance and first aid when required.
Demonstrate and instruct surfing and paddleboarding for individuals and groups.
Assemble surf, paddle and bike equipment, ensuring they are in excellent condition.
Maintain, repair, and keep equipment in professional working order including surfing equipment, paddling equipment, bikes, safety equipment, and first aid supplies.
Keep logs of weather conditions and equipment maintenance, maintain records of guests paperwork and prepare reports for inventory maintenance.
Provide outstanding customer service.
Attend projects and needs of the company related to surf, paddleboard and bike operations.
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a two year contact starting March 14 2026 to Jan 6 2028. Pay will be $33/hr for 35 to 40 hour work week for 49 weeks of the year (Swell has a seasonal closure for 3 weeks in January). The actual hours worked may fluctuate each week based on the requirements for you to fulfill the role. Extended health benefits will be provided with premiums paid by the employee.
Required Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree with focus on social dynamics of organizational behaviour.
ISA Level 2 Surf Instructor Certification (required to train surf instructors).
International Life Saving water safety certification (ILS).
First Aid & CPR certification.
Paddle Canada Stand Up Paddleboard Instructor certification.
Criminal record check.
Full Drivers License (not learners license).
Required Experience:
3+ years in surf specific coaching.
Leadership & Staff Management experience
Operations & Logistics Coordination
Administrative & Office Systems Management
