Job Summary:
A strong team, like a great beer, is the sum of its parts. Our necessary ingredient is an awesome person to join us as Sous Chef. A Sous Chef is second-in-command in the kitchen and reports directly to the Head Chef, overseeing the preparation and cooking of food. The Sous Chef will take on various tasks and responsibilities, assisting the Head Chef in optimizing the general work environment. From training employees, to ordering products, to crafting delicious food, a Sous Chef needs to be able to do it all. Sous Chefs must be aware that they are a representative of BCB and our organization’s values. This individual ought to share an enthusiasm for great product and equally great service.

Job Responsibilities: 
Ensure training of any kitchen staff is conducted in a timely manner
Communicate with all shift employees to help them understand their job descriptions company policies
Review all sanitation standards for the kitchen operation
Ensure budgeted food percentages are achieved through effective control measures including portion controls, kitchen timings, food inventory rotation measures, receiving as well as food storage procedures, inventory controls, transfer controls, effective purchasing procedures, kitchen security procedures waste control
Manage the on-going training, development, mentoring supervision of hourly employees
Manage purchasing as well as preparation of all food products to make sure they meet standards of quality consistency
Monitor production of food preparation ensuring recipe specifications, portion controls kitchen timings are met
Monitor all food served relative to appearance, temperature and sanitary quality standards
Coordinate the storage, maintenance repair of all kitchen equipment during shift to make sure operational readiness
Manage as well as participate in all line set-up, prep breakdown activities
Responsible for in-service delegation of tasks to line personnel and hands on participation
Work the appropriate hours as delegated by the Head Chef to complete tasks and support the business needs
Qualifications & Requirements:
Food Safe Certificate
This role requires the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. To bend, lift, and carry objects weighing approximately 25+ pounds.
Ideal candidate:
5 years kitchen experience
Experience of working in a similar environment
Experience of managing or leading a team
Pizza experience
Self-motivated and comfortable working at a pace consistent with changing business volume and demands
Ability to learn quickly and desire to learn and grow
Leads with integrity and professionalism towards customers and team members
Treats themselves and others with respect
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to build relationships
Can work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays
