Job Summary
The Dispatch Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to Supervise the communications hub of the mountain. This includes training and supervision of dispatch candidates on radio etiquette, RMR’s policies and procedures, and logistical support of our mountain operations teams.
Responsibilities also include record keeping and administration of visitor data, accident statistics and mountain operations staff data.
The Dispatch Supervisor must be able to assume the role of Dispatcher as well as provide First Aid to injured guests when needed.
Essential Job Functions
Interdepartmental correspondence, general office administration, uploading invoices, reviewing and approving supply requisitions, processing expense forms.
Management of Mountain Operations bookkeeping activities and keeping databases updated. Training staff on use of these databases.
Creating processes, improving office services, and implementing communication procedures.
Administrative assistance and training to the Mountain Operations and Safety Departments.
Payroll, Hiring and training of the Dispatch Team
Ensuring inter-departmental communications are relayed in a timely and efficient manner.
Monitor radio transmissions from all on-hill departments.
Coordinating communication and dispatching the proper resources in emergency situations
Online management of 1Risk platform and related databases
Collecting and reporting weather data for internal use such as daily mountain reports and external use including Environment Canada, website updates and various media outlets in a timely fashion
Recording and reporting daily operations including but not limited to, emergency response, operational changes, transport requests, missing persons and maintenance issues.
Coordinating, logging, and tracking the transport of goods and patients around the mountain.
Customer relations with guests that frequent the office.
Assisting managers with various office tasks and delegating duties to operations staff
Maintaining a clean work environment.
Other duties as required.
Act an Operations Chief or first responder during emergency response.
Audit the quality and accuracy of Mountain Patrollers accident records.
Follow and assist in the periodic review of emergency protocols as outlined in the Mountain Safety Emergency Response Plan.
Training and audit of Mountain Patrol Staff for incident investigations on mountain.
Complete Human Resources related functions.
Assists OH&S Coordinator as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
The incumbent will be required to work extended hours including weekends and statutory holidays.
Required Qualifications and Abilities
Post-secondary education, or an appropriate and equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
Advanced Microsoft Office 365 skills.
Knowledge of radio protocols and etiquette.
Knowledge of workplace safety and health issues.
OFA Level 3 or equivalent with Advanced Protocols.
ICS 200 Certification or equivalent.
Risk Management experience
Emergency Dispatching experience.
Supervising Experience.
Data Analysis Experience (preferably related to injury and/or harm prevention)
Experience hazard analysis and mitigation.
Experience implementing and administering Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and conducting spatial analysis.
Experience evaluating training needs and designing and delivering training programs.
