Work Hours: 40 hours per week

In-Joy was established in 2004 with two locations in Burnaby for Infant and Toddler (0-3) and Primary Years (3-6). Our Centre is dedicated to cultivating each child’s natural curiosity and love of knowledge. Our classroom emphasizes the importance of a prepared environment, which gives children the freedom to explore and experience excitement when learning. Now, we are seeking an Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) to join our team.

Job Duties:
• Support Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) in delivering learning programs that nurture children’s curiosity, independence, and critical thinking.
• Lead age-appropriate activities such as reading, singing, arts and crafts, and outdoor play under ECE supervision, while ensuring children’s safety at all times.
• Encourage the development of self-help skills—such as dressing, eating, and personal hygiene—while respecting each child’s individual pace.
• Follow the daily schedule, including child-led activities, care routines, and transitions, to maintain a consistent and supportive environment.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating classroom that promotes hands-on learning and exploration.
• Observe and document children’s behavior, progress, and developmental milestones, and report findings to the ECE.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members through open communication, empathy, and collaboration.
• Attend staff meetings to discuss individual and group needs, contributing to continuous improvement of the childcare program.

Qualifications:

• High school graduation is required
• Experience in childcare is required
• A BC Early Childhood Educator Assistant certificate is required
• A clean criminal record check is required
• Proficient in English communication, both oral and written
• Cooperative, responsible, and attention to detail
