Cook [bulk food production] Full Time NEW

Wage:
$19.00 per hour (full-time position; 40 hours per week)

Job Description:
• Preparing and mixing ingredients for frozen food items made by hand for distribution to local supermarkets
• Preparation of Portuguese cod and shrimp cakes and other specialties in high-volume commercial kitchen setting
• Seasoning mixtures during preparation in accordance with Portuguese recipes
• Cooking and mixing all the required ingredients
• Preparing and cooking filling for the shrimp cakes in accordance with Portuguese recipes
• Portioning and molding cod and shrimp cakes and other specialties
• Monitor stock levels, rotate ingredients, order supplies and estimate food requirements to minimize waste
• Clean kitchen and work areas

Job Requirements:
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of commercial cooking experience, specifically in preparing traditional Portuguese pasteis de bacalhau, rissoes [shrimp, beef, chicken, tuna & other fillings]
• Work with minimal supervision
• Prepared to work in a commercial kitchen environment
