Job duties:
-clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting,
-Cut carcasses, sides and quarters, Cut, trim and prepare standard cuts of meat,
-Wrap and package prepared meats,
-Remove bones from meat, Weigh meat for sale
-Prepare special displays of meat and poultry
-Shape, lace and tie roasts and other meats and may wrap prepared meats and poultry
-Manage inventory, keep records of sales and determine amount, product line and freshness of products according to company and customer requirements
-Price meat products
-Grind meats
-prepare special orders.
Wage: $22.00/hour
Terms of employment: One-year full-time/ year round
Language: Must be able to read, write & speak English

Skills/Requirements:
-Completion of secondary school required.
-Completion of a college or other meat-and-fish-cutting training program, or a three-year meat cutting apprenticeship an asset but previous on the job training can be substituted.
-On-the-job training in food stores is usually provided for retail butchers, meat cutters and fishmongers.
-Meat Cutter Trade Certificate an asset but not required
-Ability to operate band saw
-Ability to operate Power grinder and Slicing machine
-Be physically fit and be able to stand for extended periods
-Be able to handle heavy loads
-Be self motivated
-Have a good attitude and relate well to customers
-Fast pace environment with an eye for attention to detail
-Resume required
