Apprentice Truck-Trailer Technician Full Time NEW

Wage: $30.00 per hour (40 hours per week)

Location of Work: 350 Macnaughton Avenue, Moncton, NB E1H 2K1

JOB DUTIES:
• Assist licensed technicians in inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding commercial truck-trailers
• Assist and perform duties like suspension repairs, welding, braking system maintenance, and light installation, while gaining on-the-job training and learning electronic maintenance systems
• Assist in repairing trailer bodies, including side panels, rear doors, roofs, and flooring
• Work on suspension systems, landing gear assemblies, and coupling systems
• Perform basic welding to repair or replace trailer components
• Assist with preventative maintenance inspections (PMI) on braking systems, tires, and electrical systems
• Utilize electronic systems to review work orders and document repairs performed

Requirements & Qualifications
• Must be registered as an apprentice in New Brunswick
• 1-2 years’ experience in repairs, maintenance of transport truck-trailers
• Basic understanding of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
• Knowledge of vehicle mechanics
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
• Valid driver’s license is required
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and working in confined spaces
• Good work organization and ability to work independently
• Ability to work in a team
