Position Summary
The Home Child Care Provider is responsible for providing safe, attentive, and nurturing care to the children in the employer’s home. The position involves supervising and caring for the children, supporting their daily routines and development, preparing meals, organizing age-appropriate activities, and maintaining a safe and healthy home environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Assume responsibility for the care and supervision of the children in the absence of the parents.
Supervise children throughout the day and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks appropriate for the children.
Assist children with personal hygiene, dressing, and other daily routines.
Support children’s social, emotional, and personal development.
Organize and participate in age-appropriate activities, including games, educational activities, indoor and outdoor play, and outings.
Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for the children.
Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the children and their living areas.
Follow the parents’ instructions regarding childcare routines, discipline, activities, meals, and household rules.
Discipline children appropriately and consistently according to the methods and expectations established by the parents.
Provide emotional support, comfort, and reassurance to the children.
Monitor the children’s activities and respond appropriately to their needs.
Establish and maintain consistent daily routines for the children.
Communicate with the parents regarding the children’s daily activities, needs, behaviour, and overall well-being.
Exercise sound judgment and respond appropriately to situations requiring immediate attention.
Maintain confidentiality regarding the family and household.

Education and Experience
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
Approximately 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience in childcare or a related field is preferred.
