Plastic Products Assembler – Sign Manufacturing Full Time NEW

The Plastic Products Assembler – Sign Manufacturing is responsible for fabricating and assembling commercial signs and sign components using acrylic, PVC, aluminum composite panels (ACP), aluminum, and other materials. The employee reads and interprets technical drawings and production specifications, prepares materials, and performs cutting, shaping, drilling, gluing, and assembly operations.

The position involves operating CNC routers, cutting equipment, hand tools, and power tools, as well as preparing production files for CNC machinery when required. The employee also participates in the fabrication of illuminated signs and channel letters, including the installation and assembly of LED lighting components.

Additional responsibilities include performing quality-control inspections, making necessary adjustments to finished products, maintaining production equipment and the work area, troubleshooting basic equipment or LED system issues, and assisting with sign installation and maintenance when required.

The employee works closely with the fabrication and installation team to ensure that signs are manufactured according to plans and specifications, meet quality standards, and are completed within established production deadlines while respecting all occupational health and safety requirements.
Job Duties
The person hired for this position will primarily perform the following duties:
• Read and interpret plans, technical drawings, and fabrication files required for the production of commercial signs.
• Prepare materials required for fabrication, including acrylic, PVC, aluminum composite panels (ACP), aluminum, and other materials used in sign manufacturing.
• Fabricate and assemble illuminated signs, channel letters, and various commercial sign components.
• Cut, shape, drill, glue, and assemble various plastic, acrylic, and composite material components.
• Operate CNC routers and cutting equipment to produce the various components required for fabrication.
• Prepare files required for the operation of CNC equipment and other production machinery.
• Assist with large-format printing and the preparation of print files when required.
• Install and assemble LED components used in illuminated signs.
• Assist with the configuration and programming of commercial and digital LED systems when required.
• Perform quality control inspections of fabricated parts and assembled signs.
• Make necessary adjustments to ensure that products comply with plans and fabrication specifications.
• Assist with the installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of equipment and signs when required.
• Diagnose certain problems related to equipment or LED systems and assist with troubleshooting.
• Maintain the work area and production equipment in a clean, safe, and functional condition.
• Comply with quality and fabrication standards, as well as occupational health and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with other members of the fabrication and installation team to meet production deadlines.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Technical or vocational training in a field related to industrial manufacturing, plastics processing, sign manufacturing, digital production, or a related field.
• Experience in the fabrication and assembly of commercial signs or similar products.
• Experience working with plastics, acrylic, PVC, composite panels, and other materials used in sign manufacturing.
• Experience with CNC machines and cutting equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of fabrication and assembly processes.
• Knowledge of LED lighting systems and their installation is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of design or production software such as AutoCAD, Rhino 3D, ArtCAM, FlexiSIGN, or similar software is considered an asset.
• Ability to use manual and power tools used in fabrication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good problem-solving skills.

• Strict adherence to occupational health and safety requirements.
Professional Experience Required
Relevant experience in sign manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, CNC machine operation, plastics processing, or a related field is required.
Experience in the fabrication of illuminated signs and LED systems is considered a significant asset.
