Little Tree Kinderhouse Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) to support the delivery of high-quality early learning and childcare programs for infants and toddlers. The successful candidate will assist in implementing daily programming, provide attentive care, encourage children’s intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development, support the day-to-day coordination of classroom operations, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Job Duties:
• Work directly with infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare setting.
• Support early childhood educators in implementing daily programming and activities that promote children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
• Assist with classroom routines, transitions, meals, rest periods, toileting, and outdoor play.
• Encourage children’s participation in age-appropriate learning and play activities.
• Communicate with parents through Brightwheel (a childcare management and parent communication platform) and daily in-person interactions
• Monitor classroom needs and assist with staffing and coverage coordination.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support and perform operational and administrative tasks as required.
• Adapt to varying classroom assignments, age groups and provide coverage at either childcare centre based on operational and staffing needs.
• Follow licensing regulations and health and safety procedures.
Qualifications Required:
• Valid British Columbia Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) Certificate or Early Childhood Educator Certificate (ECEC).
• Successful completion of secondary school.
• Ability to work effectively with infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare setting.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting infants, toddlers, preschool-aged, and school-aged children in a childcare environment.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain one).
• Additional education or professional development in autism, neurodiversity, dyslexia, or inclusive early childhood education.
Assets:
• Experience supporting infants, toddlers, preschool-aged, and school-aged children in a licensed childcare environment.
• Ability to lift, bend, and engage in active play with children throughout the day.
• Experience using childcare documentation and parent communication platforms such as Brightwheel or similar applications.
• Strong communication skills to interact professionally with parents, colleagues, and supervisors.
