We are looking for a Home Child Care Provider to take care of our thirteen-year-old daughter and eight-year-old son and engage with them in reading stories, creative play and other indoor and outdoor fun activities. You will also be responsible for preparing healthy meals for them and doing some light housekeeping to maintain a safe and healthy environment at our home.

We are open to candidates with availability to work full-time – 40 hours per week. While we would like to establish regular hours (6:30am-10:30am and 2:00pm-6:00pm on weekdays), we can be flexible with what those hours will be. If overtime work is required on weekdays’ evenings, or weekends, your overtime pay will be $28.5 per hour.

Although you will work at our home, it’s up to you whether to live in our home or not. If you would like to, we are happy to have you living with us for free. Otherwise, we will help you find an appropriate and affordable place to live in/near our community.

Job Duties:
– Assume children caregiving responsibility at our home
– Monitor the children’s schedules and supervise their study and recreational activities
– Drop off and pick up children from school, appointments or extracurricular activities as required.
– Discuss daily menu with parents and serve nutritious meals and snacks
– Pay attention to children’s emotions and behaviour
– Organize and participate in age-appropriate activities
– Ensure the children to carry out indoor and outdoor activities safely
– Provide feedback to parents, communicate and adjust caring plan promptly
– Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the children
– Create and maintain a safe and healthy living environment

Qualifications:
– Experience in early childhood education or childcare is preferred
– Demonstrated ability to perform the work duties
– Child First Aid Certificate is preferred
– The clean criminal record check is required
– Fluent in English is required
– Strong communicative and interpersonal skills
– Reliable, flexible, patient and nurturing
