Job Description
Cloverbelt Country Meats is seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our growing team. We take pride in providing high-quality meat products to our customers and are looking for someone who shares our passion for craftsmanship, cleanliness, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
· Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat for retail sale
· Ensure all meat products are displayed and stored according to food safety and quality standards
· Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, offering recommendations, and handling special orders
· Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in compliance with health regulations
· Operate and maintain meat processing equipment safely and efficiently
· Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation and ordering supplies
· Weighing and packaging meat products
· Ensuring proper labelling and storage of products
· Ordering and receiving meat supplies
Requirements
· 1+ year of experience as a butcher or in similar role (eg. Farm worker, carpenter, trades worker, etc.)
· Strong knowledge of meat cuts, preparation methods, and food safety protocols
· Ability to safely handle knives, saws, grinders and similar tools. Good with tool handling and maintenance
· Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
· Physical stamina, can be able to lift lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for long
· Attention to detail
· Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred
· Food Safety Certification is an asset
