Vessel Logistics Coordinator – 12 Month Limited Term Full Time

The Vessel Logistics Coordinator – 12 Month Limited Term is responsible for the intake and updating of orders at Seaspan Marine. The role communicates daily with customers, terminals and other collaborators.

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 10 Pemberton Avenue in North Vancouver.

What you’ll do

• Intakes and updates orders from internal and external stakeholders and customers.
• Assists in optimizing schedules by liaising with marine crew and personnel, engineering, maintenance, port captains and commercial department and external collaborators such as customers, agents and 3rd party vendors.
• Communicates with customers and provides updates on arrival and departure schedule. Updates schedule to ensure minimal customer disruptions.
• Monitors tides and equipment ready times to ensure on time scheduling with loading and unloading terminals.
• After-hours on call duty may be required.
• Performs additional duties as required.
• Prepares invoices for services provided by Seaspan ensuring accuracy in customer billing information and tariffs for rendered services and customer agreements. Submits invoices for specified customers.

What you’ll bring

• Degree in relevant subject area (Logistics or Business preferred).
• Nautical or Engineering Certificate of Competency preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of logistics experience (tug and barge operations in marine industry preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience managing simultaneous tasks in fast-paced industry.
• Knowledge of relevant Canadian and International marine regulations.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Interpersonal skills including problem solving.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate at all senior level, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project and Visio).
• Organizational and time management skills.

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 – $79,000 In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
