Position Summary
Thales is looking to hire a Technical Specialist – Combat Systems/C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) to support the Royal Canadian Navy Arctic and Offshore Patrol Vessels (AOPV) and Joint Support Ship (JSS) class vessels managed by Thales under the AOPS & JSS In-Service Support (AJISS) contract.
The Technical Specialist provides technical services and advice for designated system and equipment repair, operations and maintenance activities within the Technical Specialists area of expertise and authorization. This includes but is not limited to Command & Control (Command Management, Navigation Systems); Communications (Internal & External, SATCOM, Radios); Computers (NavIS, networks) and Combat Systems (Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Weapons).
The C4ISR Technical Specialist also supports the AJISS Engineering Team with various activities such as development and implementation of Engineering Changes, creation of Deviations & Waivers or surveys on board the ship while alongside.
The C4ISR Technical Specialist will also advise the Service Delivery team and Engineering team on matters relating to requirements for corrective maintenance, engineering changes and verify planned maintenance changes related to C4ISR.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The C4ISR Technical Specialist is accountable to the AJISS Engineering Services Lead and is required to Support the AOPS & JSS Program Engineers; Support the waterfront team; and Support the LCMM & Engineering section.
