The General Supervisor, Afternoon (Weekends) is responsible for managing teams of multi-discipline trades workers. The General Supervisor works together with operations, project managers and chargehands to determine weekend work, priorities and staffing requirements and oversees work assignments within VDC operations. The General Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all work is carried out in accordance to shipyard safety, quality, and environment standards, policies and procedures. To ensure standards are met the General Supervisor will regularly check on performance, conduct performance management tasks, including but not limited to: disciplining trades employees, manage trade employee time cards, trade employee leave requests and ensuring the collective agreement is applied appropriately.
Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at Vancouver Drydock.

The estimated salary for this position is $100,000 – $120,000. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
